I visited ‘Another London' yesterday, the current photography show on at Tate Britain. I was really struck by the work of Herbert List, partly because his sense of composition and choice of subject matter showed the influence of Surrealism. Not all the images above are included in the exhibition. I enjoyed the show but found quite a lot of the images to be fairly clichéd views of the city. The images that stood out for me were those that attempted to present an unusual, witty or peculiarly atmospheric interpretation of London life. Expect more posts about the work of these photographers over the next few days.
