Mark Jenkins created a series of human-like installations and placed them on random locations in the middle of a city. This blend of his human figures combined with the surroundings where it’s placed creates an alarming, surreal scene that will bewilder your expectations during your regular stroll down town. Other than the shots shown here, more of this series can be seen on his website.

Onme of the tasks in today’s Year 12 lesson was to create an image, inspired by Magritte’s ‘Ceci nest pas une pipe’, entitled ‘This is not a photograph’. here is the most convincing submission from Theo.
It’s not a photograph, it’s a photo of a graph. You see what he did there?

In today’s lesson you will have access to the iPads and I would like you to experiment with a variety of photography apps to create the following:
I want you to be creative and share your discoveries with each other, Don’t forget to combine different applications to alter your images. Play!
We’ll also hopefully have an opportunity to test those pinhole cameras you’ve been making at home. Don’t forget to bring them in.
I really like Masha’s playing card poster installed on a decaying surface on The Ferrier Estate.

Today we learned more about the ‘Liberties of the Savoy’ project from artists Sam and Rehana. We also had a look at a diverse range of documentary film clips, took each others’ portraits and practised using the Canon 550s to shoot interview footage. The project sounds fantastic with opportunities to visit other schools and The Savoy Hotel itself. Sam and Rehana were very supportive and encouraging and clearly have a lot to teach us about how to construct an exciting and creative documentary. It’s amazing to think that our photographs will be published in a book and the film footage edited together as a permanent record of the project. It’s real world projects like this that have a lasting impact on learners so we are privileged to he invited to take part.

So excited about this new project based at London’s Savoy Hotel. We’ve been asked to document the whole thing!
